What is Sine Wave AO?
AO stands for Animation Overrider, an object which you wear to override the default SL animations your avatar does when moving. Sine Wave AO is an AO which you set up on our website rather than editing a note card inside the AO.

How do I use Sine Wave Animation Overrider?
1. Drag your animations into the AO's inventory.
2. Wear the AO and type /1 reset in chat, or click on the ao, to reset the scripts.
3. If it is first time for you to use our AO, you will get a link to activate an account.
4. Create a password for your account. Please don't use your existing Second Life password.
5. Now you can edit your first playlist. You should see all the animations you have dragged into the AO. And any animations you have bought from us over the last 6 months.
6. Go to 'my first ao' and tick the animations you want to use in that playlist.
7. Click on the ao inworld and chose 'reset' from the blue menu.
8. Bring the AO back into your inventory, right click and chose 'wear'

Why do I need to activate my account and login Sine Wave's animation website?
After activate and login, you can create your own play lists and switch between them. You can use Sine Wave animations and any other animations you like. You can use both private and public keywords to trigger your animations. You also can edit the play list to fully control the timing, ordering and looping of animations.

What if I forget my password?
If you forget your password, please don't worry, click your AO in SL,there is a button named "Lost Pwd" in the blue menu box that will take you to the password reset page.
Click the button, you will get a link in the chat, click the link, enter your new password and submit it, OK, now use your new password to login.
If you do not have the button in the menu, that means you are using an old version of the Sine Wave AO. Use the command /1 activate in main chat to get the link to the password page. Or go to Sine Wave Island to grab a new one.

How do I use chat to control the AO?

You can enter the commands above in Second Life like below:

What is a playlist?
A playlist lets you pick a selection of animations to play in your AO.
1. Select (ctrl/shift + left click) the animations you want to use and drag them into your playlist.
2. Sine Wave Company animations all have unique times and are set to play accordingly. Other animations that you add, by dragging them into your AO, will default to playing for 10 seconds. You can change each one to play for whatever time you wish.
3. Keywords allow you and your friends to play animations with a command.
4. You can order animations in sequence or play them randomly.
5. In a random selection, you can weight animations so that some play more often than others.

What is the animation type?
Second Life will play your animations depending on the type defined here. Sine Wave Company animations have a type assigned, although you can change this if you want. You may want to use one of our standing animations as a gesture, for instance.
When you drag other animations into your AO you will need to give them a type. Just click on the 'unassigned' button and you will see all the animations that need your attention.

What are the keywords?
You can play any animation in Second Life by using a keyword of your choosing.
Click edit to assign your keywords to each animation. There are three types of keyword;
Private keywords:
Any word you add here will only play an animation if you use it in the /2 private channel, such as /2 lol;
Public keyword:
Any word you add here will play an animation whenever you use the keyword in public chat;
Buddy keywords:
Any word you add here will play an animation if someone else says the word. You can confine this to a list of specific avatars by adding their names in editing playlist page;

What does the 'order' column do?
If you set your playlist to play sequentially you can assign the order of play.

What does the 'weight' column do?
If you set your playlist to play randomly you can weight animations here so some play more often than others. The higher the number the more often it will play. If you leave everything at the default '5' and you want one animation to play much less often, set it to 1. If you want one to play almost all the time, set it to 100.

What does the 'time' column do?
The Sine Wave AO will play each animation for exactly the time allocated. This enables it to play dynamic standing poses without cutting them off half way through a loop or hanging at the end.
Sine Wave Company animations will have the right time assigned for you when you automatically. You can change this if you wish - for instance, double the time if you want it to loop twice every time it plays.
Other animations added to the AO will default to a 10 second loop. You can then set them each to whatever time length you wish.

What is the limitation of the AO?
You can assign up to 60 animations to a playlist (or 200 if you are on a mono grid).
You can assign up to 40 animations for each type (such as standing, walking etc).
You can assign keywords to around 20 animations, or 60 animations on a mono grid (it also depends on the length of the keywords).
If you met runtime error "Stack-Heap Collision" or warning "Insufficient memory" reduce the number of selected animations or keywords and reset.

Why does my AO give me a script error when I rez it?
The error likes "Script trying to trigger animations but PERMISSION_TRIGGER_ANIMATION permission not set".
The script error means you have rezzed the object when it is still on. it doesn't matter really - it just shows it can't get the permission to play the animation because it's not attached to you. It will work fine when you wear it.

When I go to place with restricts (scripts not allowed) the AO stops working.
Some AOs do work in 'non scripted' areas - but that is actually a hack. We didn't bother to implement it because in the next month Mono is being implemented across the grid and the hack will no longer work - no AOs will work in script free areas. I guess that will prompt a lot of land owners to change the perms on their land - there's not much we can do about it though.
